First photobookSayo Kogure’s very first photobook.

The theme is “bedside”. With no practice at being photographed and no signature pose, she stood in front of the camera. Morning light falling on the pillow, a sloping road where the steps go on, the mirror in the washroom. What is in the pictures is simply one day, spent the way she always does. Because she isn’t used to it, she can’t put on a face. And because she can’t, there are faces here that exist nowhere else. From waking to sleeping, in one book.

Born in 2005 and raised in a port town in Chiba. She has never worked in entertainment; this shoot was her first time in front of a camera. She loves the sea, seagulls and cats. Lately the neighborhood strays have taken to her and gather at her feet whenever she leaves the house. A good cook, she likes any kind of mochi, kashiwa-mochi most of all. She has just started exchanging letters with a friend, and is still a little sad that the bakery near her home closed down.
